Client Brief: Child-friendly garden with aesthetic landscaping from the roadside.
Materials
Water feature: Natural slate stone and chippings, softwood timber bridge
Steps: Large machine rounded posts, timber stone mini-sleepers
Turf: Live turf
Play area: Timber log balance beam with stepping logs
Description
A relaxing garden with incorporated water feature with a small bridge and tiered levels. The ground was regraded with construction of a timber log retaining wall. The small bridge leads to steps through woodland to small play area with log balance beam and playhouse. Timber was used to soften the landscaping. Live turf was laid with addition of base for new hut/shed.
Transformation
The client could not use the very sloped garden and wanted to have something that was child-friendly. So the transformation involved converting the slope into a number of userfriendly tiers.
